Morgantown Hockey Association, President, Hillarey Young, believes that hometown events like this one will pay dividends down the road.
“It’s been a slow growth, but a growth. With the new rink, the younger teams and the younger kids are growing into our program. Ideally, in a couple years you’ll see a lot more teams, and hockey will be bigger in Morgantown,” Young said.
The U14 Morgantown Blades won both of their playoff games on Saturday, and took home the PAHL cup today as they defeated the Westmoreland Eagles in the championship by a score of 4-0. Not to be outdone, the U12 Morgantown Blades also took home the cup as well.
