Montreal Canadiens
The Montreal Canadiens recalled goaltender Jacob Fowler from the AHL’s Laval Rocket on Wednesday and will get the start against the Ottawa Senators.
This is Fowlers second stint in Montreal after he went 4-4-2 with a 2.62 goals-against average and .902 save percentage earlier this season.
Fowler, 21, is among the AHL goaltending leaders this season, going 19-7-1 with a 2.23 GAA and .916 save percentage.
The 6-foot-1 netminder was drafted 69th overall by the Canadiens in 2023 and is playing his first full year in professional hockey.
Montreal is 3-1-2 since returning from the Olympic break, allowing 22 goals during that span. They sit in third place in the Atlantic Division with a 35-18-10 record, one point ahead of the Detroit Red Wings and two points ahead of the Boston Bruins.
Ottawa Senators
Linus Ullmark will get the start in net with the Senators take on the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday, according to TSN’s Claire Hanna.
Ullmark, 32, has won three of his last four games and has a 19-8-7 record this season with an .884 save percentage and 2.84 goals-against average.

Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers signed prospected Noah Powell to a three-year, entry-level contract on Wednesday.
OFFICIAL: We have signed forward Noah Powell to a three-year entry-level contract beginning with the 2026-27 season.
Powell will report to the @LVPhantoms (AHL) for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.

Powell, 21, was drafted 148th overall by the Flyers in 2024 and has seven goals and 12 points in 34 games with Arizona State University in the NCAA this season.
The 6-foot-2 winger began the 2024-25 campaign with Ohio State University, where he had two goals and five points in 17 games. He then moved to the Ontario Hockey League’s Oshawa Generals, recording nine goals and 22 points in 28 games and then added four goals and 14 points in 21 playoff games.
Powell will join the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
Additionally, Sam Ersson was in the starter’s net during the team’s morning skate on Wednesday and is expected to start against the Washington Capitals, according to Kevin Kurz of The Athletic.
Ersson, 26, last appeared in relief of Dan Vladar on Monday during the team’s 6-2 loss to the New York Rangers.
The 6-foot-3 netminder has a 9-10-5 record this season with an .859 save percentage and 3.40 goals-against average.
Washington Capitals
Logan Thompson will get the start in net when the Capitals take on the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday, according to Sammi Silber of The Hockey News.

Thompson, 29, is coming off a 7-3 win over the Calgary Flames on Monday where he allowed three goals on 26 shots.
