The Toronto Maple Leafs have called up forward Michael Pezzetta from the Toronto Marlies ahead of their game against the Anaheim Ducks.

The Maple Leafs signed Pezzetta to a two-year deal worth $1.575 million after spending the last four seasons with the Montreal Canadiens.

A native of Toronto, Pezzetta has spent the 2025-26 season with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL where he has scored four goals and six assists.

On Dec. 13, 2025 Pezetta was suspended three games due to an illegal check to the head in a game against his former AHL club, the Laval Rocket.

With the Maple Leafs well out of the playoff picture, it was expected that the club could give some more Marlies a chance. The Leafs called up Bo Groulx from the Marlies on Tuesday, and the Marlies’ leading scoring maple his Leafs debut in a 3-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens.

Pezzetta called the opportunity to play for the Leafs a “dream come true” shortly after signing his contract.

Based on line rushes this morning, the 6-foot-1 Pezzetta is expected to make his Leafs debut on the fourth line with Jacob Quillan and Calle Jarnkrok.
