Welcome to the new Detroit Red Wings world where Marco Kasper and JT Compher are the top centers and the team’s playoff probability seems less certain than it was a few days ago. Detroit coach Todd McLellan told the media in Tampa that Dylan Larkin and Andrew Copp will be out for two weeks and then will be reassessed.  John Gibson will start in goal tonight.

With the Montreal Canadiens beating Ottawa Wednesday night, the Red Wings are now three points behind Montreal for third place in the Atlantic Division going into tonight’s game at Tampa Bay. The first three places come with guaranteed playoff spots.

Worse, the wildcard-sitting Red Wings are only three points from falling below the Eastern Conference wildcard cut line.

The Red Wings have called up reinforcements. Sheldon Dries, Eduards Tralmaks and John Leonard were recalled from Grand Rapids on an emergency basis. But based on the morning skate, only center Dries will play tonight.

Red Wings In Case You Missed It

Swedish defenseman Anton Johansson may be in Grand Rapids sooner than expected.

A Red Wings streak is on the line tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Detroit prospect Michal Postava is showing that he’s in the mix for Red Wings goalie of the future.
