The Edmonton Oilers provided a positive injury update on goaltender Connor Ingram ahead of Thursday’s matchup against the Dallas Stars.
Head coach Kris Knoblauch confirmed that Ingram is healthy enough to dress for the game. However, the goaltender will serve as the backup while Tristan Jarry gets the start in Dallas.

“Ingram is good. He is healthy. He can play but won’t be starting tonight,” Knoblauch said, via Gene Principe.
Oilers play-by-play announcer Jack Michaels also reported that Ingram will be available on the bench. The update comes after a frightening collision earlier this week.
Ingram left Tuesday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche after a high-speed collision with Nathan MacKinnon late in the second period.
MacKinnon drove toward the crease on a power play but made heavy contact with the Edmonton goalie. Afterwards, officials reviewed the play and assessed MacKinnon a five-minute major for goaltender interference. The call also resulted in an automatic game misconduct, marking the first ejection of MacKinnon’s career.

The hit forced Ingram out of the game, and he was placed in concussion protocol. Jarry replaced him in the net as Edmonton secured a 4-3 victory.

Despite the scare, Ingram avoided a long absence. The 26-year-old has produced solid numbers this season with a 9-6-1 record, a 2.79 goals-against average, and a .892 save percentage across 19 appearances. He is expected to start on Friday when Edmonton faces the St. Louis Blues.
Edmonton enters the Dallas matchup with a 32-25-8 record and remains second in the Pacific Division. Led by Connor McDavid (110 points) and the league’s top power play, the Oilers continue to rely on offense while battling defensive inconsistency.
