The trade deadline came and went on March 6, and the Boston Bruins made a couple of minor trades that did not have an effect on the NHL roster. On Thursday, the Bruins General Manager made another deal, this time with the Nashville Predators for rugged AHL forward Navrin Mutter. The Bruins sent forwards Dalton Bancroft and Massimo Rizzo to Nashville with a day to spare until the AHL trade deadline.
The Bruins signed Bancroft last spring out of Cornell University. After an impressive developmental camp last summer, the 6-foot-2 winger registered two goals and three assists in 39 games for the Providence Bruins. Bancroft will become a restricted free agent at the end of the season. Rizzo was just acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers last week. The 24-year-old, who spent his 2025-26 campaign in the ECHL prior to joining the Bruins, made just one appearance for Providence. The 2019 seventh-round draft pick is an arbitration-eligible restricted free agent at season’s end.
Mutter is a 6-foot-3, 205-pound forward who brings a physical style without much offensive impact. In his fourth season with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals, Mutter has one assist in 27 games. However, the 23-year-old has 72 penalty minutes and adds toughness to the Providence lineup as they prepare for the playoffs.
