The Philadelphia Flyers won their last two big games this week and have remained alive in the NHL playoff hunt. The Flyers are five points out of a playoff spot with three teams in front of them.

On Saturday night, the Flyers have a huge game against the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Xfinity Moble Arena.  The Blue Jackets are four points ahead of the Flyers in the Eastern Conference Playoff race.  There are 17 games left in the regular season, and Flyers Head coach Rick Tocchet needs his young team to keep up their gritty play. The Flyers haven’t made the Playoffs since 2020. Let’s Go Flyers.

At the start of the week, Eagles fans were very nervous about losing four significant defensive players to NFL Free Agency.  Jaelan Phillips, Nakobe Dean, Reed Blankenship, and Joshua Uche all signing with new teams.  But Birds fans are feeling better on Friday after GM Howie Rosemen signed three defensive players: Super Bowl champion Cornerback Riq Woolen, Defensive Back Jonathan Jones, along with Edge Rusher/Linebacker Arnold Ebiketie.  Plus, the Eagles re-signed punter Braden Mann.

The Phillies are 13 days away from opening day.  We are excited that Baseball is back and the Phillies are in good shape to have a shot to win the National League east. The Phillies have one of the best starting rotations in baseball and have improved their bullpen. We will cover it all this weekend in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim.

On Saturday’s show, Producer Nick Earnshaw and my intern Erin Ewing join me in the studio.  My first guest is our area’s oldest umpire, Richard Glazer. Not only is Glazer an umpire, he has an extensive resume: He was a sports agent, he runs a trivia company, and spent 25 years as Angelo Cataldi’s movie critic on WIP’s morning show. We will enjoy talking with him. Flyers, Sixers, Eagles, and Phillies conversation plus we’ll get our “ High School Athletes in the Spotlight” with Fran Mclaughlin brought to you by the Philly Pretzel Factory of EHT.

On Sunday’s show, Producer Alex Berardis and my intern Erin Ewing join me in the studio. We will recap the Flyers’ Saturday results against the Blue Jackets.  We will talk with the Flyers Head coach Rick Tocchet before the Flyers head on a 3-game west coast road trip.  In Hour Two, Mr. Negadelphia P.J. Corda checks in with his thoughts on the Philly Sports scene.
