The Avalanche added a towering 23-year-old college free agent to their pipeline on Friday, signing Gustav Stjernberg to a two-year, entry-level contract, which starts in 2026-27.

Stjernberg is an undrafted free agent who wrapped up his junior season at Bowling Green. He recorded six goals and 10 points in 25 games while serving as an alternate captain. Listed at 6’4, 209 lbs., Stjernberg will join the AHL’s Colorado Eagles on an AHL contract for the remainder of this season.

The native of Enebyberg, Sweden, spent three seasons with Bowling Green, compiling 37 points in 86 career games. Before that, he spent a season in the USHL with Des Moines in 2022-23. He collected 20 points in 62 games.
