Toronto Maple Leafs vs Minnesota Wild
Head-to-Head: Maple Leafs 0-1 Wild
How to Watch: US TV: TNT; HBO Max; TruTV. Canada TV: SNO.
Time: 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)
Our first game of NHL predictions has the Toronto Maple Leafs visiting the Minnesota Wild for the only time this season. Anthony Stolarz is the confirmed starter after Joseph Woll got the call against the Buffalo Sabres. The Maple Leafs are coming off a 3-2 shootout loss to Buffalo and have dropped nine of their last 10 games. William Nylander is first in assists (39) and points (62) so far this season.
Jesper Wallstedt has been locked in as the starter for the Wild, who are 5-3-2 in their last 10 games. However, Minnesota has lost three of its last four game entering this Sunday night matchup. Kirill Kaprizov is first on the team in assists (41) and points (79). He’s also tied with Matt Boldy for the team-lead in goals with 38.
The Leafs seem to be out of the race for a Stanley Cup Playoff spot and they’ve been playing better. However, the Wild should pick up the win.
Prediction: Wild win 5-3.
