SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Mammoth adds critical depth as the team begins a playoff push with forwards Logan Cooley and Alexander Kerfoot returning from extended absences.

Cooley, a sweet-skating speed demon with a sniper for a shot, has been out since suffering a lower-body injury against the Vancouver Canucks on December 5.

Kerfoot, a steadying nine-year veteran presence, returns to the lineup after missing a month and a half with an upper-body injury.

It is the second significant injury he has suffered this season, limiting him to only nine games.

Mammoth host Colorado Avalanche

Utah returns to the ice tonight against the league-leading Colorado Avalanche at 7 p.m. MT.

It is the first of a three-game homestand.

Utah begins the post-Olympic portion of its schedule with a one-point lead over the Anaheim Ducks for the top Western Conference Wild Card spot.

The Mammoth hold a four-point advantage over the Los Angeles Kings with 25 games left in the regular season.
