The Laval Rocket have officially assigned goaltender Hunter Jones to the Trois-Rivières Lions in the ECHL.
“Goaltender Hunter Jones has been reassigned to the Trois-Rivières Lions.”
Laval Rocket
The 6-foot-5 netminder has had a tough season in the American Hockey League. He holds a 0-3-0 record with a 4.16 goals-against average and an .844 save percentage in just three games played with the Rocket.
It is a completely different story when he wears the Lions jersey, where he has dominated with a 15-6-0 record. His 2.26 goals-against average and .916 save percentage show he is far more comfortable when he sees regular action.
A clear signal for Jacob Fowler
Kent Hughes appears intent on keeping his young prodigy with the big club to finish the NHL season on a strong note.
Fowler has impressed since being recalled to Montreal last Wednesday, already stopping 32 shots in a win against the Senators.
The adjustment in Laval allows the team to stabilize the Kaapo Kahkonen and Hunter Shepard tandem for the remainder of the schedule.
We will continue monitoring the situation closely, but the organization’s solid execution in managing its roster shows the rebuild is progressing smoothly. It is the kind of quick reset fans like to see from the Montreal Canadiens.
