Dominik Shine played nine minutes and 24 seconds for the Detroit Red Wings against the Calgary Flames and teammates will attest that he made the most out of every second he was on the ice

When the Detroit Red Wings trailed 1-0, Shine was looking to infuse energy into his team. The diminutive right wing did that by stapling fellow Michigan native Hunter Brzustewicz to the boards. There were no shortage of Flames looking make Shine pay for that hit. He ended up paired up to fight Martin Pospisil who is a few inches taller. He had reach on Shine, but Detroit fourth liner didn’t seem to care. Shine held his own.

“You get energy from a lot of different ways,” Detroit coach Todd McLellan said. “Tonight, that was one of them.”
