Carolina Hurricanes forward Seth Jarvis has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for high-sticking Columbus Blue Jackets forward Conor Garland on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred early in the third period with the Hurricanes down 4-1. After engaging in battle that resulted in Jarvis losing control of the puck, the Hurricanses’ forward swung his stick around and hit Garland across the face.
He was assessed a double minor on the play. jarvis was assessed another double minor earlir in the game for high-sticking Jackets’ defenceman Zach Werenski.
The 24-year-old winger has 28 goals and 53 points in 59 games this season.
