The Devils beat the Rangers 6-3 in their last game on Wednesday. In their previous five games, the Devils have a 3-2-0 record, scoring four goals per game while conceding 3.6. With 14 games left to play, the Devils are 12 points back from the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings and four other teams ahead of them, a Wild Card Spot chance is all but gone for the Devils this season. The Season series between these two teams is all tied 1-1 with two meetings left.

Washington Capitals News & Notes:

The Capitals beat the Ottawa Senators 4-1 on Wednesday night. In their last five games, Washington has a 3-1-1 record, scoring 3.2 goals per game while allowing 2.4. In the last meeting between these two teams, the Capitals won 4-3 in overtime, while New Jersey took the first game 3-2 in a shootout victory. The Capitals’ playoff hopes are all but gone. With 13 games left to play, they are eight points back from both Boston and Detroit for the last two Wild Card spots.
