If you love basketball, this is your weekend as March Madness is in full swing. While I’m not doing well with my bracket, it’s still fun watching the field of 64 go dancing. It’s always exciting when a long shot advances in the tournament. Who is this year’s Cinderella?

The Flyers are out west and have won their first two games of their west coast trip. The Flyers, despite winning three of their last four games, haven’t picked up any ground in the hunt for a wild card playoff berth in the Eastern Conference.  The Flyers have 14 games left in the regular season, and while the Flyers have passed last year’s point total, the real prize is making the playoffs. Flyers head coach Rick Tocchet really wants this team to make the playoffs; The Flyers haven’t been in the playoffs since 2020. 

The Philadelphia 76ers are currently in the ninth spot in the NBA playoff race.  With 14 games left in their regular season, the Sixers are on track for the play-in tournament if they do not jump back up to 6th place in the standings. The Sixers hopes of making a deep run in the playoffs have faded with all the injuries the team has suffered even though they are one game out of a better playoff seed.  

The Phillies are six days away from opening day. Spring hopes eternal and with the sound of the bat hitting the ball, we get excited for the Phillies 2026 season. We will cover it all in The Locker Room with Billy Schweim. 

On Saturday’s show. Producer Nick Earnshaw and my intern Erin Ewing join me in the studio. March Madness is in full swing and if your a college basketball fan, this is your time.  We will see who’s still alive. Hour one, the Flyers are on the west coast and have picked up two big wins. We will preview the Flyers vs Sharks game. Puck drops at 4pm. 

Then we will talk with former Flyers tough guy and defensemen Behn Wilson; Behn will talk about his career, his time as a Flyer and the new book he just wrote “ Gloves Off”. Hour Two, we will talk Sixers basketball, Phillies baseball plus we’ll get our “High School Athletes in the Spotlight” with Fran Mclaughlin brought to you by the Philly Pretzel Factory of EHT. 

On Sunday’s Show, Producer Alex Berardis and my Twin brother Bobby Schweim plus my intern Erin Ewing join me in the studio.  With Phillies opening day on Thursday, March 26th we will go “On the Mound” with Former Phillies pitcher Tommy Greene brought to you by Blitz’s Market of Ocean City.  Tommy is back with The Locker Room for his fourth year.
