What It Means: Anton Frondell
Anton Frondell will officially be leaving his childhood team, Djurgarden, after they were eliminated from the playoffs. Frondell has been in the club’s system since his U-16 days, and in his draft year was a large reason for winning Djurgarden’s promotion from HockeyAllsvenskan to the SHL.
This season with the club, Frondell has recorded 21 goals and 9 assists in 46 games. He tacked on two of those points in three games for the club in the playoffs. His lone goal came in overtime in game one.Â
Anton Frondell has shone on the world stage as well. At this year’s World Juniors tournament, Anton Frondell was the alternate captain for Sweden en route to a gold medal. In the tournament, Frondell recorded five goals, tying him for second place among all skaters.Â

What It Means: Chicago BlackhawksÂ
At long last, he has arrived. The third overall pick from the 2025 NHL Draft is finally here. After letting Anton Frondell play out the season and develop with his SHL club, he will officially join the Blackhawks this week. Back in July, Frondell put pen to paper on an entry-level contract. This brings good news for both Anton Frondell and the Chicago Blackhawks. Because of the signing, Frondell’s visa has been pre-approved, avoiding the mess that has kept Sacha Boisvert out of the lineup.
Now with the Blackhawks, Frondell projects to slide in on the top line with Connor Bedard, replacing one of either Ryan Greene or Andre Burakovsky. Frondell will be the first true goal-scoring threat Bedard has played with in his NHL career. His quick release and power behind his shot will pair nicely with Connor Bedard down the stretch. The Swede will likely get power play minutes as well. With Frondell on the right dot and Bedard on the left, the future looks bleak for Central Division goalies.Â
On Tap for the Chicago Blackhawks will be a Sunday matinee vs the dreaded Nashville Predators. Puck drop is at 2 p.m. Central Time.Â
