Monday Night Hockey: Senators vs Rangers
Head-to-Head: Senators 1-1 Rangers
How to Watch:
U.S. TV: MSG; NHL Network
Canada TV:Â Prime (Canada); RDS
There’s only one game in town on Monday night and it’s the featured game of NHL Predictions in our latest Monday night Hockey on Prime edition. Both the Ottawa Senators and the New York Rangers had lofty expectations this season. However, both teams could be in danger of missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Rangers are pretty much out of the running and seem to be in the mix to win the top overall pick of the 2026 NHL Draft. A coaching chance and new players have yielded the same old results for the Blueshirts. Even the Letter 2.0 can’t mask the hurt of missing out for a second straight season.
Ottawa still has a chance to sneak into the postseason. However, the Senators need to keep winning games and hope things break their way. The Sens are four points off the second wild card spot, which is currently held by the New York Islanders. Games against teams like the Rangers are still important for the Senators to get points.
Let’s take a look at the statistics and storylines on this Monday Night Hockey on Prime edition of NHL predictions.
The Senators Story
Ottawa is coming into this game with a 7-2-1 record in its previous 10 games. This includes wins in four of its last five games to put the Senators back into the playoff conversation. It may be too late, but Ottawa isn’t going down without a fight.
Linus Ullmark is the projected starter for the Senators. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. The Swede has a 22-10-7 record with a 2.75 goals-against-average and .885 save percentage. However, Ullmark has played better as of late.
Tim Stutzle leads the team in goals (32), assists (40), and points (72) so far this season. Drake Batherson also has 61 points so far this campaign.
The Rangers Story
It’s been a season to forget for the Blueshirts. Many thought that putting Mike Sullivan behind the bench would kickstart the team back into the playoffs. However, the team has been rooted near the bottom of the Eastern Conference for the majority of the season.
Igor Shesterkin is the expected starter with Jonathan Quick getting the call in the 3-2 shootout loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday. Shesterkin has been one of the few bright spots with a 22-14-6 mark, 2.53 GAA and .912 save percentage.
Mika Zibanejad leads the team in goals (30), assists (37), and points (67) for the Rangers, who are on a three-game losing streak. Vincent Trocheck is two points away from getting 50 so far this season.
Prediction
Both teams were hoping for a better 2025-26 season. However, the Senators still have time to turn things around. Ottawa should get the win in this game and keep its postseason hopes alive.
Prediction: Senators win 4-2.
Best Bets
We close out NHL predictions with some prop bets of the night. The over/under for the Senators versus the Rangers is 5.5, and we like the over in this game.
As far as individual props, take Claude Giroux to get an assist for Ottawa. On the New York side of things, take Zibanejad to get a goal against his former team.
