The Philadelphia Flyers (34-23-12) were essentially left for dead as they headed for the West Coast earlier this week. A perfect 3-0-0 road trip has kept them alive, as they revisit the last opponent they faced on home ice 10 days later.
The Columbus Blue Jackets (37-22-11) are back in town as the Flyers play a critical game on Tuesday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena at 7 PM.

Injury & Roster UpdatesLineup Updates: Sean Couturier, Denver Barkey, and Luke Glendening are all considered game-time decisions. Barkey took normal reps during line rushes, so it appears he will return. Emil Andrae is likely a healthy scratch for the Flyers as Barkey returns.Starting Goalie: Dan Vladar gets the start for the Flyers. Vladar made 24 saves on 25 shots on Saturday in a win over San Jose. He has two appearances against Columbus this season, including a shootout loss 10 days ago, where he made 27 saves on 28 shots. Vladar has a 23-11-7 record with a 2.41 GAA and .908 save percentage.InjuriesSean Couturier: upper-body injury, day-to-dayLuke Glendening: lower-body injury, day-to-dayDenver Barkey: upper-body injury, day-to-dayRodrigo Abols: fractured ankle, out at least two months from Jan. 21Tyson Foerster: surgery on right arm on Dec. 17, out five months.Opponent Snapshot: Columbus Blue JacketsOpponent record: 37-22-11Special Teams RankingPower Play: 20.3% (17th)Penalty Kill: 77.8% (24th)Who’s hot?: Adam Fantilli has four goals and 10 points in the last nine games. Conor Garland has five goals in nine games since being acquired by Columbus. Zach Werenski has gone 11 games without a goal, but has 13 assists in that time.Who’s in net?: Jet Greaves is expected to start for the Blue Jackets. Greaves has a 23-13-8 record this season with a 2.58 GAA and .910 save percentage. He made 21 saves on 22 shots in a 1-0 loss to the Islanders in his last start on Sunday. Greaves picked up the win over the Flyers on March 14, making 18 saves on 19 shots.Injuries: Brendan Smith remains on IR for Columbus.Keys to the GameReturn from the West: The first game back from a road trip can be tough, especially when cross-country travel is involved. The Flyers will have to overcome that to have a solid start.Playoff Atmosphere: After winning three straight games on the road, the Flyers return home with a pulse in the playoff race into the final 13 games of the season. That can bring out the best in a home crowd.Second Chance: The Flyers let a huge opportunity slip away against Columbus just 10 days ago. Now they have a second chance to right that and move closer in the playoff picture.By the NumbersColumbus is 30-7-6 when scoring the first goal. The Flyers are 15-4-4 when scoring first.Columbus has a plus-22 goal differential in the first period, while having a minus-16 goal differential in the third. The Flyers have a minus-10 goal differential in the first, but a plus-15 goal differential in the third.Travis Konecny has 20 career goals against the Blue Jackets in 32 games.Quotable”“It’s up to them. If they keep winning games, good for them, but we’re going to keep applying pressure and let them know that if they slip, we’ll be right there.” – Travis Konecny on the playoff raceX-FactorsOwen Tippett: Tippett remained on a heater with the opening goal against San Jose on Saturday. More important than the recent offensive production is that is his speed is on full display and he’s making things happen even without the payoff.Zach Werenski: The leader of the Blue Jackets, Werenski has continued to be a steady presence on the blue line and powering the offense. His ability to set up teammates is even better than his goal-scoring, which he does plenty of with 20 goals on the season.
