Although the Maple Leafs are nowhere near a playoff spot, Bruins head coach Marco Sturm believes the team still poses a tough challenge for Boston.
“Knowing the coach, these guys will work,” Sturm said pregame on Tuesday. “If you look at their lineup, they still have pretty damn good players. They can win those games.
“It’s always a tricky one. But it’s not about them. I always say it’s about us. I just want to make sure we’re all ready to go today to beat a team like that.”

Boston is also returning to home ice, which Sturm believes will help motivate the Bruins to come out strong and get a much-needed two points.
“It’s usually always exciting,” Sturm said of returning home. “We love those kinds of games. We feel it especially at home with the crowd behind us, that alone should be motivating for us. I shouldn’t even come in and talk to them before the game because they should be ready to go.”
Boston enters play with a record of 39-23-8 and is holding onto the top Wild Card spot, and is just two points up on the Detroit Red Wings, who are just outside of the playoffs.
Puck drop between Boston and Toronto is set for 7 p.m. ET. Pregame coverage begins on NESN at 6 p.m. ET.
