Big wake-up call this morning for Canadiens fans thanks to Jakub Dobes. Jakub may have just saved our season.

Let’s be honest, the start of the game last night was far from impressive. Carolina took control of the ice very early.

Martin St-Louis watched his team give up two quick goals in the first period. Nikolaj Ehlers and Jordan Staal poured cold water on the Bell Centre crowd.

Fortunately, the momentum eventually shifted. Oliver Kapanen ignited the Montreal crowd with a perfectly timed deflection. He changed the pace of the game for the Montreal Canadiens.

We then saw strong execution and quick transitions from our side. Cole Caufield and Juraj Slafkovsky took over offensively in the second period. They each recorded a goal and an assist.

Ivan Demidov also brought the crowd to its feet with a brilliant deke. Finally, Jake Evans put the finishing touch into an empty net.

A confident goaltender and a mature group

Right now, the team is ahead of the Boston Bruins by two points in the standings. A playoff spot is very much within reach!

It feels so good to experience this at the end of March.

His genuine smile toward Dobes says a lot about his leadership and impeccable attitude. He puts the team first, without any bitterness. Honestly, that kind of energy in a locker room is worth its weight in gold.

Beating the Hurricanes proves the maturity of this young group. Montreal can be very proud of the consistent effort shown recently.

Now, they just need to maintain this strong winning pace in the upcoming matchups. Let’s be honest, the weekend is shaping up to be thrilling for hockey fans.
