Yet another Chicago Blackhawks prospect is heading to the United States from Europe. On Wednesday morning, the Rockford IceHogs announced that 2023 third-round pick (No. 93 overall) Jiri Felcman signed a PTO contract and will report to the AHL as soon as his immigration is completed.
Felcman, a 6-foot-4, 198-pound forward, played for the Langnau Tigers of the National League in 2025-26, Switzerland’s top professional league. The 20-year-old appeared in all 52 games for Langnau this season, recording three goals and 17 assists for 20 points, good for ninth on the team in scoring. He was also fifth in assists. Felcman was the only player younger than 26 to finish in the top 10 in points for the Tigers.
Among the 14 teams in the National League, Langnau finished the season in 11th place, missing out on the playoffs by 11 points. With their year now wrapped up, Felcman became available to transition to the Blackhawks organization.
A native of Hradec Králové, Czechia, Felcman has represented his country several times in international competition. Most recently, he helped the Czech’s earn a Bronze Medal at the 2025 U-20 World Junior Championship, where he tallied two assists in seven games.
With all the high-end prospects in the Blackhawks’ pipelines, Felcman has been somewhat of a forgotten man, despite being picked in the same round as Nick Lardis in 2023. But following a strong first full season in the National League, Felcman, who’s built like a truck, is now heading to North America with some positive momentum.
Considering the full-blown youth movement in Chicago for the final stretch of the regular season, the IceHogs, particularly in their forward group, are rather depleted at the moment. It also doesn’t help that Gavin Hayes is likely out for the remainder of the year due to injury. Therefore, Felcman should be granted a fairly meaningful opportunity whenever he makes his pro debut in North America.
Rockford returns to action next on Saturday, Mar. 28, against the Iowa Wild at the BMO Center. If Felcman’s immigration process gets cleared by then, he could slide into the lineup for his first look with the IceHogs this weekend.
