Goaltender Jakub Dobes now officially has a brand-new nickname in the Montreal Canadiens locker room.

In its post of the famous victory video, the team shared a quote from the young Dobes while calling him “Doberman.”

This very catchy nickname is now sticking with him on social media, and fans seem to absolutely love it.

The wordplay with his last name is just perfect.

On top of that, a doberman is known as a formidable guard dog, which perfectly represents the main role of an NHL goaltender. Very Interesting!

Receiving such a nickname from his own teammates is always flattering.

Head coach Martin St-Louis must certainly appreciate the strong chemistry developing within his squad.

Doberman, 24, is a 6-foot-4, 215-pound goaltender who has 23 wins in 35 games this season, along with a goals-against average of 2.88 (save percentage of .896).
