Are Edmonton Oilers Stanley Cup bound? Former NHLer weighs in

Former NHL winger Riley Cote explains what he loves about this Edmonton Oilers team ahead of the Western Conference Finals.

Sports Seriously

The defending champion Florida Panthers clinched their third consecutive berth in the Stanley Cup Final Wednesday night with a Game 5 victory against the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh, North Carolina.

They could learn their opponent as soon as Thursday night.

The Panthers will face the winner of the Western Conference finals. The Edmonton Oilers, last year’s Stanley Cup runner-up, lead the Dallas Stars 3-1 after a 4-1 victory on Tuesday night. Game 5 will be Thursday night in Dallas, but the Oilers will be missing key forward Zach Hyman, who needed surgery after a Game 4 hit by Dallas’ Mason Marchment.

Here are the matchups, schedule and television information for the conference finals of the NHL’s Stanley Cup playoffs (all times p.m. ET, series are best of seven, x-if necessary):
