Nikita Grebenkin will miss seven to 10 days with an upper-body injury before being further reevaluated.

The Flyers on Thursday start a stretch of six games in nine days when they welcome the Blackhawks (7 p.m. ET/NBCSP). Grebenkin will miss at least four of those games; we’ll see if he has to miss that entire stretch.

With 12 games to go, Rick Tocchet’s club entered the day five points back of the Eastern Conference’s second wild-card spot and six back of third place in the Metropolitan Division.

Grebenkin has put up four goals and 10 assists in 55 games this season, his first with the Flyers. The rookie winger has played 11:17 minutes per game. He was acquired last season in the Scott Laughton trade.

The 22-year-old didn’t play in the Flyers’ 3-2 loss Tuesday night to the Blue Jackets. The club had a fourth line of Sean Couturier, Luke Glendening and Garnet Hathaway. The Flyers have one healthy extra forward with Garrett Wilson.
