Former Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price has just made a very interesting statement for fans, offering real hope about the team’s future in net.
Let’s just say it brings a strong dose of optimism regarding the organization’s goaltending outlook.
He was asked if there is an NHL goaltender who reminds him of his own playing style.
He could have named any goalie across the entire National Hockey League.
Carey Price’s answer was immediate—and it’s bound to generate plenty of discussion in Montreal.
He instantly named Jacob Fowler.
Carey Price sees a lot of himself in Jacob Fowler
Jacob Fowler is already viewed as one of the Montreal Canadiens’ top gems, and this comparison seems to confirm that the hype is very real.
Carey Price when asked if there’s a goalie in the NHL that reminds him of himself:
“Jacob Fowler. When I watch him play, he reminds me a lot of me when I was his age.”
Receiving praise of that magnitude from one of the greatest goaltenders in franchise history represents the ultimate compliment for a young player like Fowler.
Knowing that Carey Price sees himself in Fowler’s movements, composure, and demeanor strongly suggests the Canadiens may have secured an excellent goaltender for the future.
If the young man manages to achieve even half of Carey Price’s success in Montreal, the organization will be in very good hands.
Carey Price, now 38 years old, recorded 361 career wins in the National Hockey League.
Jacob Fowler, 21, is one of the team’s top prospects at the position. He was selected in the third round by the Montreal Canadiens in the 2023 NHL Draft.
