The Winnipeg Jets are suddenly back in the playoff race with points in 12 of their last 16 games, but they’ll face a tough test tonight against the Colorado Avalanche.
Mark Scheifele has been the offensive catalyst for Winnipeg during its hot streak, and I’m backing him to throw plenty of pucks on net in my Avalanche vs. Jets predictions and NHL picks for Saturday, March 28.

Jets vs Avalanche best bet: Mark Scheifele Over 2.5 shots (+145)
Mark Scheifele has taken his game to another level just when the Winnipeg Jets needed him most.
The Jets center has a team-leading seven goals and 18 points in 14 games this month, but it’s not just his production that’s been up – he’s also generating tons of shots.
Scheifele is averaging just over two shots per game this season, but that number is way up to 2.64 in March.
He’s logged Over 2.5 shots in three straight games and five of his last seven – including a two-goal, four-shot output against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.

Scheifele scored twice against Colorado last time out and is shooting a red hot 21.7% this season. With his recent high-volume approach, he’ll find the back of the net again tonight.
