Trevor Zegras stole the puck from Moritz Seider at center ice and found Tippett behind Simon Edvinsson for a 1-0 lead.

Scoreboard watching: Senators, Blue Jackets lose
The Red Wings got good news on Saturday afternoon with the Ottawa Senators losing 4-2 to the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Columbus Blue Jackets losing 3-2 to the San Jose Sharks.
Detroit is one point behind Columbus and can get back into the playoffs with a win tonight and Ottawa is tied with the Red Wings with 86 points.
Jackson’s Carter Mazur in lineup
Winger Carter Mazur is in the Detroit Red Wings’ lineup tonight and is playing on a line with Marco Kasper and Emmitt Finnie.

The Wings recalled Mazur from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Saturday afternoon, prior to the game against the Philadelphia Flyers at Little Caesars Arena (8 p.m., ABC, 97.1).
Mazur, who replaces James van Riemsdyk in the lineup, has 15 points (11-4-15), a plus-six rating with the Griffins during the 2025-26 season.
The Jackson native made his NHL debut with the Red Wings against Utah last year on March 6, 2025. He played only two shifts and 1:10 of ice time after suffering an injury.

Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin met with players from the Professional Women’s Hockey League on Saturday morning, prior to the PWHL Takeover Tour game at Little Caesars Arena.
In a matinee game at LCA, the Montreal Victoire ralled from a 1-0 deficit in the third period to beat the New York Sirens, 3-1.

Larkin posed for a photo with New York goalies Callie Shanahan (Commerce Township) and Kaley Doyle (Livonia).

The PWHL set a Detroit attendance record with a crowd of 15,938, the most fans at the four PWHL games in the last three years.

The Red Wings have 84 points with 10 games remaining and may need as many as 100 points to break a nine-year playoff drought.
