Brotherly shove
The Stars’ franchise, historically, hasn’t had the best of times in Philly.
The Stars/North Stars are 16-49-17 all-time when playing the Flyers on the road, and it’s not like Philadelphia has been a powerhouse — they’ve missed the playoffs in nine of the last 13 seasons.
Dallas has, however, won three of its last four meetings in Philadelphia, so maybe this era of Stars is reversing the trend.
Desperate times for the Flyers
Speaking of the Flyers and the playoffs: It’s been six seasons since they’ve gotten there, so you can imagine how desperately they’re fighting these days as they try to earn a spot. That’s a trend the Stars have come up against a lot recently.
Philadelphia is running out of time, however. At 36-24-12, the Flyers are in fifth place in their division and three points out of a playoff spot with 10 games left to play.
Safe to say the Stars will be getting a team with their backs against the wall on Sunday.
Robo rolling
Stars forward Jason Robertson enters Sunday’s contest riding a three-game point streak vs. Philadelphia, earning six points (3 goals, 3 assists) during that span, including putting up a hat trick in Dallas’ last meeting against them on Nov. 15.
Robertson scored goal No. 40 of the season on Saturday against the Penguins, the third time in his career he’s hit the 40-goal mark.
