There was some concern over whether severe weather would keep the Toronto Maple Leafs from flying to Minnesota to take on the Wild on Sunday.

The Leafs were coming from Buffalo late Saturday into Sunday, and postponement had at least been floated as a possibility.

The latest development appears to alleviate that, though.

Social media flight watchers seem to have found the Maple Leafs flying from Buffalo to Minnesota overnight:

Getting the game played as scheduled on Sunday evening is certainly much preferred to the alternative.

It’s late in the year, and having to reconfigure two teams’ schedules to fit in a matchup at a different time would have been tricky for all involved.

Instead, this can go on as planned.

No official announcement has been made, but it all seems to be OK.

The Maple Leafs are coming off a 3-2 shootout loss in Buffalo.

The Wild were home on Saturday night, too, a disappointing 4-2 loss to the New York Rangers.

Now, they meet as some winter weather does its thing outside the arena.
