The Rangers have won two straight since being eliminated from the playoff race while New Jersey comes off a win on Sunday night. The Devils attempt to complete a season sweep of New York after a pair of 6-3 victories earlier this month.

Jack Hughes logged two goals and two assists on Sunday night to help pace New Jersey to a 5-3 win over the visiting Chicago Blackhawks. Hughes scored the go-ahead goal at the 14:51 mark of the third period, just 19 seconds after Dougie Hamilton tied the game, and iced the win with an empty-net marker in the final minute. Connor Brown and Simon Nemec also lit the lamp for the Devils while Jake Allen made 28 saves.
Igor Shesterkin stopped 26 shots and Adam Sykora broke a scoreless tie at 5:10 of the third period as the Rangers topped the visiting Florida Panthers 3-1 on Sunday. Conor Sheary added a shorthanded goal and Adam Fox’s empty-net marker at 16:06 of the third made it a 3-0 game. Fox also picked up an assist in the victory.
Nico Hischier leads the Devils with 26 goals while Hughes and Timo Meier each come in with 22. Hughes’ 63 points tops the club while Jacob Markström owns a 22-17-1 record with an .884 save percentage and 3.09 goals against average. Mike Zibanejad paces New York with 32 goals and 69 points, with Alexis Lafrenière entering play with 22 tallies. Shesterkin brings a 23-16-6 mark into the game to go with a shutout, a .912 save percentage and 2.55 GAA.
