After wearing the #15 for his first four NHL games, Chicago Blackhawks forward Anton Frondell will now wear #16.
The Chicago Blackhawks have been exciting to watch since Anton Frondell and Sacha Boisvert joined the team on the road, despite the negative results. That said, Frondell has been spectacular individually for the Hawks, posting four points in four games while still searching for his first NHL goal.
Ahead of the pair’s home debut on Tuesday, the Blackhawks announced the player’s jersey numbers on social media. However, there was a notable difference. Boisvert’s #12 was consistent, but Anton Frondell is now listed as #16 rather than #15, which he wore during his first four games.
For those who already ordered #15 Frondell jerseys, sorry. That said, a unique jersey is always super fun considering he only wore it for four games.
The Blackhawks and Winnipeg Jets will battle at 7:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday evening. For the second time this season, Jonathan Toews will return to the United Center while donning a different uniform.
