A lot of the games lately have had a fair amount of chaos in them, and tonight’s matchup with the Caps’ longtime rivals, the Flyers, was no exception. Lots of goals, lots of general feistiness, and a hint of danger all night long? That’s old school, Patrick Division-style hockey, baby.

Plus: The captain hitting 30 goals (and then 31) for the 20th time in 21 seasons is just…incredible. What a legend.

Minus: The starts to the second and third period, with the Caps giving up a goal in the first minute of each frame, were not really what you want to see out of a team with playoff aspirations, Hey, good news on that front…

Caps Player of the Game: Since making decisions is hard, we’re going with a three-headed monster of Alex Ovechkin (with two goals, giving him his 20th 30+ goal season), Jakob Chychrun (a goal and two assists), and Pierre-Luc Dubois (three assists).
