DULUTH, Minn. (KQDS-TV)- The first domino of the off-season for the UMD men’s hockey team has fallen.

And it’s a big one as starting goaltender Adam Gajan is making the jump to the pros.

Gajan and the Chicago Blackhawks agreed to a two-year, entry-level contract that runs through the 2027-2028 season.

Just this past year, the Slovakian posted career highs in games played, wins, save percentage, goals against average, and lastly shutouts.

Gajan was also named NCHC Goaltender of the Month in October and helped UMD get to their first NCAA tournament since the 2022 season.

Chicago originally drafted Gajan in the 2nd round of the 2023 NHL Draft.
