The Canadiens beat the Lightning 4-1 Tuesday night in Tampa for their sixth straight victory in what might have been a first-round playoff preview.

Are the Canadiens peaking at just the right time to succeed in the playoffs?

That’s one of the questions answered on this week’s Hockey Inside/Out Show, as The Gazette’s Stu Cowan is joined by former Canadiens teammates and 1986 Stanley Cup champions Chris Nilan and Rick Green to talk about what has impressed them most about the team recently.

Head coach Martin St. Louis said recently that after four years on the job he now has the players at a point where they are able to coach each other on the bench. That brings back some memories from 1986 for Nilan and Green when Jean Perron was their head coach.

The panel also weighs in on the Canadiens’ decision to call up defenceman Adam Engstrom from the AHL’s Laval Rocket instead of David Reinbacher to replace the injured Alexandre Carrier. They also talk about Arber Xhekaj playing a game at forward, and the Canadiens deciding that goalie Jakub Dobes will no longer speak with the media.
