We open up NHL predictions with our featured game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Carolina Hurricanes. Jet Greaves is expected to draw the start for the Blue Jackets in this critical game. However, always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. Columbus is 5-4-1 in its previous 10 games, including a four-game losing streak. Despite this, the Jackets hold the last wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. Charlie Coyle leads the club in assists with 38 so far.

Frederik Andersen is the projected starter for the Hurricanes, who are 6-4 in their last 10, including a win over the Blue Jackets last time out. Carolina can clinch a Stanley Cup Playoff spot if they win or at least a point and a few other things fall its way. Nikolaj Ehlers has four goals and four assists for eight points in his last 10 games.

Both teams have different reasons to get points. However, Carolina will book its place in the postseason.

Prediction: Hurricanes win 4-3.
