Ekman-Larsson skated in 11 shifts and logged 7:03 minutes of ice time before he was ruled out. He finished a minus-1 in the game.

The veteran 34-year-old defenceman has missed just three games this season for the Maple Leafs, his second with the team. He has eight goals and 38 points in 72 games.

Ekman-Larsson also played five games as a member of Team Sweden at the Olympics in February.

With just six games remaining on the schedule, the Maple Leafs are all but out of the playoff race at 32-31-13 – they sit 11 points out of the final playoff spot in the East after losing to the Sharks on Thursday.
