We have a surprising decision to announce within the Montreal Canadiens organization.

In fact, the Victoriaville native had joined the Trois-Rivières organization on February 23.

His time within the Canadiens organization will therefore have been very short.

Before making the jump to the ECHL, Michaud played four seasons at Ontario Tech University.

An abrupt decision for a former QMJHL champion

The 24-year-old defenseman nonetheless has a very interesting background in Quebec junior hockey.

He notably played for the Baie-Comeau Drakkar and the Victoriaville Tigres during his time in the QMJHL.

In 156 games in the league, the left-shot defenseman recorded a total of 31 points.

Notably, he even won the prestigious President Cup with the Tigres during the 2020–2021 season.

“The Trois-Rivières Lions announced today the release of defenseman Jérémy Michaud.”

A rather unusual decision.

Jérémy Michaud, 24, has recorded 0 points in 7 games with the Lions this season.
