The Vegas Golden Knights are closing the regular season in a tight Pacific Division race, with their postseason presence still up in the air.
Vegas has been able to rebound from three consecutive losses in late March, putting together back-to-back victories against its past two opponents.
As things stand entering Friday, the Golden Knights have a 34-26-16 record and 84 in 76 games, currently sit third in their division, and have a five-point lead over the second wild-card team in the Western Conference, in case they fall there.
The little bounceback continued with the win over the Calgary Flames on Thursday night, in which forward Mitch Marner recorded three goals and two assists.

Vegas’ 6-3 victory marked the sixth five-point game of Marner’s career and his first since January 2025, with the former Toronto Maple Leafs winger contributing in five of the six goals scored by his team.
The outing also stood as Marner’s first hat trick with Vegas and tied the franchise record for points in a single game.
As great as all of that is, Marner pointed to the team’s execution, not his personal performance, as the key to earning the win on Thursday.
“We just stuck with our game plan of trying to play quick, play up the ice, play in their face,” Marner said. “I thought we did a better job throughout the game of covering for one another when we were doing that. Obviously, some great plays from some guys to find me, and just kind of make plays.”
Vegas scored three times in the third period to secure the comeback win. The game also suffered a delay before the third period due to ice maintenance, and Marner discussed how the team dealt with it.
“It was tough, to be honest,” Marner said. “We didn’t know what was going on; we just kind of heard what was going on. Then we kind of got out there, and it still seemed like it’s not really fixed, so you’re just trying to get your bearings under you, trying to get going.”
The Golden Knights will return to action on Saturday when they visit the Edmonton Oilers at 10 p.m. ET.
