It’s rough out here in Deep Blue.

Seattle is rapidly crashing back down to where they ended last season, and it’s becoming terrifyingly possible that they do it again. There’s a shot they could pull out of this tailspin, but frankly even against the Blackhawks it feels like the Kraken are in for a tough time.

Part of it is that it seems like Seattle either has completely lost their ability to defend adequately or that they seem to need the concept explained to them. Combine that with the fact that they’re nearly entirely dependent on Bobby McMann to score for some reason, it feels like the Kraken need a minor miracle to pull off a win tonight.

And the Blackhawks aren’t even all that good! They’ve lost just as many games as the Kraken if not more! They’re on a road trip of humiliation just like the one the Kraken just came out of! They routinely get outshot even harder than Seattle! By all accounts this should be a walk!

And yet, the performances of the last week or so have thrown it into doubt.

If there’s any team the Kraken can overcome, it should be this one. It needs to be this one.

This will be a major look at whether or not this team can pull themselves out of this disaster, and if not…what it says about them.
