The Vegas Golden Knights (34-26-16) and the Edmonton Oilers (39-28-9) meet Saturday at Rogers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Puck drop is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze NHL odds around the Golden Knights vs. Oilers and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: Oilers lead 3-0

The Golden Knights have slipped to third place in the Pacific Division, with the Oilers tied for first with 87 points through 76 games. The Anaheim Ducks also have 87 points in 76 games, so it’s a 6-game race for the division title.

VGK doubled up the Calgary Flames 6-3 Thursday as heavy home favorites (-230) as the Over (6) cashed, with G Carter Hart (leg) activated from Injured Reserve for his first game since early January. Hart stopped 19 of 22 shots in the win, the second in as many games since coach John Tortorella took over for the fired Bruce Cassidy.

The Oilers have won 5 in a row to surge into first place despite the fact Edmonton is without C Leon Draisaitl (lower body) for the remainder of the season. The Oilers offense has averaged 3.8 goals per game (GPG) in the past 5 outings, with the goaltending and defense allowing just 3 total goals in the past 3 games, all Under results. That’s a recipe for success.

Adin Hill (10-9-5, 3.06 GAA, .868 SV%, 1 SO) vs. Connor Ingram (14-8-2, 2.69 GAA, .898 SV%, 2 SO)

Hill is likely to go Saturday night after allowing just 2 goals on 24 shots in a 4-2 home win over the Vancouver Canucks Monday. He wrapped up March with a subpar 5-6-2 record in 13 starts, but he posted a respectable 2.79 GAA and mediocre .872 SV% with 1 SO. He went 0-1-1 against the Oilers with a 3.45 GAA and .851 SV% in 2 starts in March.

Ingram is confirmed to go. He has slid into the No. 1 job in Edmonton with a 7-2-1 record, 2.60 GAA and .902 SV% with 1 SO in 11 March starts. He has allowed just 5 total goals across his past 3 outings, including a 4-3 OTW against the Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena March 26. He is 3-0-0 with a 2.62 GAA and .907 SV% in 3 starts vs. VGK this season.

Golden Knights at Oilers picks and predictionsPrediction

Oilers 4, Golden Knights 2

EDMONTON (-115) is a solid play at home. While the Vegas (-105) has seen a little bump from the Torts hiring, Edmonton is getting very good goaltending from Ingram, especially over the past month, and the Oilers are surging. Ingram is unbeaten in 3 starts against the Golden Knights this season, too.

Look for the OILERS (-115) to continue their march toward a Pacific Division title.

The Golden Knights +1.5 (-250) are too expensive on the puck line … if you’re looking for a little bit of insurance. If you like Vegas, just bet it straight up, although that is not my recommended play.

AVOID.

UNDER 6.5 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Under has cashed in 3 straight games for Edmonton, as it has averaged 3.3 GPG, while allowing just 1.0 GPG in the span. The O/U split in 2 meetings between these teams in March, too.
