For the first time in four years, the Henderson Silver Knights will be playing playoff hockey.
The Silver Knights scored twice in the final 1:26 to defeat the Tucson Roadrunners 5-4 at Lee’s Family Forum on Saturday to punch their ticket to the Calder Cup Playoffs.
The Knights needed a win in regulation to clinch.
Defenseman Dylan Coghlan tied it with 1:26 remaining with goaltender Carl Lindbom pulled, and winger Braeden Bowman’s second goal with 15 seconds left and gave the Knights (35-20-11) their second straight last-minute victory.
They beat Tucson 4-3 on Friday thanks to a goal from defenseman Viliam Kmec with less than 30 seconds left.
The Knights are 11-1-1 in their last 13 games and have jumped to fourth place in the Pacific Division with six games to go.
