Watch parties for all home playoff games will be held at Canalside, instead of Alumni Plaza like in previous playoff runs.
BUFFALO, N.Y. — With Buffalo gearing up for another Sabres playoff run, the team has announced a few changes and new events for fans to enjoy.
The Sabres announced Sunday that watch parties for home playoff games will move to Canalside, instead of being held outside KeyBank Center in Alumni Plaza.
The team says the move is to, “ensure room for the whole Sabrehood.” All of the home watch parties will be free for fans and open to the public. Food and beer trucks will also be hauled in to satisfy hungry hockey fans.

The change is part of the team’s new Sabrehood Block Party events, which will also include pregame parties at Alumni Plaza. The pregame events will include appearances from Sabres alumni, live music, and activities.
The fun isn’t just for fans outside the arena either. The Sabres said in their announcement that ticketed fans will be given rally towels for every home playoff game, and each game’s towel will feature a different saying and slogan. The designs for the towels will be announced in the days leading up to each game, the team said.
The team is also giving away free yard signs at Tops Friendly Market Locations. The signs will display the familiar “Let’s Go Buffalo” chant, and will available to be picked up on April 17.
Fans will also be able to come together for watch parties for away playoff games, however times and locations for those watch parties are yet to be announced.
