Game Preview
What a tale of two seasons.
The Jets underperformed until the exact moment the Olympics ended and have been resurgent; making them a fringe playoff team in a west that is hot-potatoing that 2nd Wildcard spot. They finally have the goalscoring from their best that they should have, and its allowed them a chance.
Meanwhile, the Kraken are the Kraken; hopelessly lost after a season that started so well.
At this point, playoffs feel like they are a distant memory, and as such thoughts turn instead to the draft and the draft lottery. Currently Tankathon loves Seattle’s trajectory; having them in the top 5 at 8.5% odds for 5th and also 1st overall. If nothing else, this disgraceful run of play has brought the Ivar Stenberg/Gavin McKenna sweepstakes to our door.
As for winning? Its more about the habits the Kraken want to show; they need to attack the net and critically not try to roof it every time they shoot. They need to be more cognizant of their position on the ice to prepare for rebounds. They need to actually defend the net front.
in short…they need to do a little bit of everything. Maybe this season is lost, but good habits formed now can carry.
LETS GO KRAKEN, LETS GO SQUIDS.
