The Nashville Predators (36-31-9) visit the LA Kings (31-26-19) Monday. Puck drop from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, is set for 10:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze NHL odds around the Predators vs. Kings odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.
Season series: Nashville leads 2-0 after 5-4 shootout wins Oct. 25 in Nashville and Thursday in LA. The Over 5.5 hit both times as Nashville was a +104 and +125 dog.
The Preds have won 2 straight after a 6-3 win at the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. LW Filip Forsberg scored goals No. 36 and 37 to lead the charge. C Steven Stamkos added his 38th goal after scoring just once in the first month of the season. The Preds are tied with the Kings at 81 points in the final Western Conference Wild Card spot, but Nashville owns the tiebreaker with more regulation wins.
The Kings have alternated wins and losses their last 6 games and have gone to OT in 3 straight. Their most recent game was a 7-6 overtime win over the Toronto Maple Leafs as -210 home favorites Saturday. RW Quinton Byfield had 2 goals, including the game-winner, to get to the 20-goal plateau.

Juuse Saros (28-20-7, 3.14 GAA, .894 SV%) vs. Anton Forsberg (12-11-5, 2.74 GAA, .905 SV%, 2 SO)
Saros allowed 3 goals on 27 shots in the 6-3 win over San Jose Saturday. He has allowed 3+ goals in 19 of his last 21 starts. It has just been that kind of season for Nashville, which has been able to outscore opponents. Saros allowed 4 goals on 33 shots in the 5-4 shootout win over the Kings on Thursday and stopped 36 of 40 in the October win.
The Kings are going through it between the pipes. Darcy Kuemper, who began the season as the No. 1 goalie for the Kings, has the second-worst save percentage of his career, and the 33-year-old journeyman Forsberg has served as a tourniquet. He stopped 23 of 24 in a 2-1 overtime win over St. Louis on Wednesday and had a .900 SV% in 5 appearances in March.
Predators at Kings picks and predictionsPrediction
Predators 4, Kings 3
These teams are grinders, and the last 4 meetings have required OT. If you want a speculative play, take the 3-way line TIE (+290) for a nice return.
If you’d rather play it straight up, the PREDATORS (+110) are the way to go. The Kings are just 12-17-9 at home, but what really separates the teams are the offensive output. Nashville is 19th in the league at 2.97 goals per game and has the 11th-ranked power play at 22.5%. The Kings live and die by their trap defense with LW Kevin Fiala (lower body) out. They are tied for 28th in goals (2.68), 29th in PP% (17.1) and 30th in shooting percentage (9.6%).
There’s no play here. Bet the OT at nearly 3 times your wager if you want another option.
PASS.
The Preds are 4-6 O/U in their last 10, and the Kings are 5-5. Both sides have goalie concerns, and both previous meetings ended in 5-4 finals.
Go OVER 6 (-105).
