Game Notes
Do you even want to know who was on the ice long enough for it to be noteworthy?
Another game, another first period that suggested they had hope, only for said hope to be boiled away over the course of the rest of the game. It seems to be what they are now; dim, fleeting looks into a world where they could be competent enough to win hockey games, and then a crashing reality. Surely this cannot be extrapolated into the whole season, no?
Hey, it’s not all bad! The Kraken made sure the Wild went 0-fer on the power play! Don’t look at anything else they did, that’s a major improvement over where they were up to 24 hours ago!
The same issues on defense keep burning this team alive; speed kills them, cycling kills them, and any physicality that might help them gets whiffed. It is dire on that blueline, man.
With this win, the Wild sweep the Kraken in the regular season.
Five losses in a row, and yet still they haven’t been able to overcome their bestest buddies in the whole world the New York Rangers in terms of potential pick odds. Still, an 8.5% chance of the first overall pick is better than none at all.
Berkly Catton had an…interesting night. He was one of the more active players, though not always in good ways as his aggression on some plays ended up turning into turnovers. Still, he and Molgaard were once again possession leaders.
Joey Daccord finished his night with an .857 SV%. Given that he was effectively under siege the entire game, I think we can call that as best as he can ask for given some of the rotten bounces the Kraken were getting.
Was there anything good about this game?
More Kaapo Kakko points! He got an assist and that is his 4th in 5 games!
Brandon Montour! He got things rolling with an excellent goal!
Adam Larsson! He was arguably the last game-related good thing to happen in that he scored a goal!
Odds for a better pick are slightly increasing bay beeeeeee-
Only five more games of this nightmare left!
