The Florida Panthers (37-38-4) will play their final roadie of the 2025-26 season when they face the Toronto Maple Leafs (32-33-14) tonight at Scotiabank Arena in a game between two teams not going to the postseason.
Florida losing streak hit four games after a 5-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators at Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata on Thursday. Jesper Boqvist ended Linus Ullmark’s shutout bid with 5:43 left in the tilt, with the assists going to A.J. Greer and Eetu Luostarinen. It was just Boqvist’s fourth goal of the season and first since all the way back on November 24. Defensemen Marek Alscher and Ludvig Jansson both made their NHL debuts and acquitted themselves well.
Like the Cats, the Maple Leafs enter the game mired in an 0-3-1 slump. They were beaten 5-3 by the New York Islanders at UBS Arena on Tuesday. Former Panther Steven Lorentz, Easton Cowan and Morgan Rielly turned on the red light and goaltender Artur Akhtyamov stopped 39 of 44 shots faced in his first NHL start.
