The Ottawa Senators look to stay hot, rolling into the playoffs, going for their fifth straight win, when they travel to take on the New Jersey Devils on Sunday.
This season series is tied 1-1 heading into this finale when the New Jersey Devils host the Ottawa Senators on Sunday night. Ottawa is looking to improve its playoff seeding and secure the top Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference standings. The Senators enter this game with the same number of points as the Boston Bruins, with 96. Ottawa leapfrogged Boston for the top Wild Card position with the Senators winning their last four games, while the Bruins have dropped five straight. Ottawa won that season series against Boston 3-1. Meanwhile, New Jersey is just looking to end its season on a high note after being eliminated from the playoffs and sitting second-to-last in the Metropolitan Division, only above the New York Rangers. Ottawa tied up this series on Jan. 31 with a 4-1 win at home. Linus Ullmark was the first star with 26 saves, and Brady Tkachuk earned a goal and added two assists. It was Ullmark’s first start for Ottawa since taking a leave of absence on Dec. 28. Both teams are playing on back-to-back days in this finale, after each earning victories on Saturday. Ottawa is the -130 favorite on the road to earn the series win tonight.
