One of Pittsburgh Penguins fans’ biggest questions leading into the team’s first-round playoff series against the Philadelphia Flyers was who would start between the pipes in Game 1 on Saturday night?

Penguins head coach Dan Muse answered that question Saturday morning.

“Dan Muse said Stuart Skinner will start Game 1 against Philadelphia,” Penguins team reporter Michelle Crechiolo posted on X.

Skinner earned the nod over Arturs Silovs, at least to begin the best-of-seven set.

The former went 2-0-1 in three starts vs. the Flyers this season, recording 64 saves on 71 shots.

Skinner finished the regular season 12-9-5 with 80 goals allowed and 617 saves, good for an .885 save percentage.

Silovs was 19-12-8 with 115 goals allowed and 905 saves, finishing with an .887 save percentage.
