Toronto visits the playoff-bound Minnesota Frost (13-3-4-7, 49 points), who are all but locked into the third spot in the postseason, at Grand Casino Arena in St. Paul, Minnesota, on Sunday afternoon. The Frost sit nine points behind the second-place Boston Fleet with three games left, needing to win out while Boston loses its final two games in regulation to move up in the standings.

Minnesota comes off a 3-2 road loss to the Fleet on Wednesday night. The Frost fell behind 2-0 after two periods before Kendall Cooper cut the deficit to one with a goal 4:01 into the third period. Boston responded with a marker 2:08 later and Minnesota’s Britta Curl-Salemme got the game’s final tally with 1:36 left, with Cooper picking up an assist.

The Sceptres blew a 2-0 lead in the final 10:30 on Wednesday night, falling to the New York Sirens 3-2 for a costly road loss. Daryl Watts put Toronto up 1-0 at 14:43 of the second period with a shorthanded goal before Ella Shelton made it a 2-0 game at 8:51 of the third. New York answered less than a minute later and then tied the game and took the lead in a span of just 1:10, getting the go-ahead goal with 3:57 remaining.

The game features the highest- and lowest-scoring clubs in the PWHL, with the Frost getting 3.1 goals per game and Toronto scoring only 1.8 a night. Minnesota’s Kelly Pannek leads the league with 14 goals and 29 points while Grace Zumwinkle comes in with 12 goals. Watts paces the Sceptres with 18 points and shares the goal-scoring lead of nine with Blayre Turnbull.

Maddie Rooney comes in 9-4-2-0 for the Frost with a shutout to go with a .922 save percentage and 2.04 goals against average. Raygan Kirk is 7-7-2-3 for Toronto with two shutouts, a .930 save percentage and 2.00 GAA.
