Despite the shared name with a Pittsburgh hockey team, the penguins at Adventure Aquarium have their loyalties straight.
Aquarium staff members confirmed that the resident penguins are rooting for the Philadelphia Flyers in the NHL playoffs against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

“We, the penguins of Adventure Aquarium, would like to get ahead of any allegations that we support those other penguins in Pittsburgh,” a sign in the aquarium read. “We demonstrate the true values of brotherly love and passion for our city, unlike those frauds across the state.”
In a social media post, the Camden-based penguins are shown hanging out in their newly decorated exhibit, adorned with signs that read “penguins love Philadelphia Flyers,” as well as mini pom-poms and hockey sticks.
Although their loyalty is not with their species, the penguins at the aquarium are supported in their decision.
In an Instagram comment, the Flyers mascot Gritty wrote: “I’ll allow it.”
Additional animals at Aventure Aquarium are also showing support for the Flyers. Other social media posts show two hippopotamuses and a diamondback terrapin hanging out with Flyers gear.
The Flyers and Penguins next play each other tonight at 7 p.m. in the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.
This will be the third game of the series, which the Flyers lead 2-0.
